Did you know if you’re an ACRA-registered company in Singapore, you can get a .com.sg or .sg domain free for the first year? I was trying to get a .com.sg for our new web store when I stumbled upon this. It’s a collaboration between Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA), Singapore Network Information Centre (SGNIC), and Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority Singapore (ACRA). This free domain promotion is only valid from 2007 till the end of 2010 and your free .com.sg or .sg domain can be activated at participating registrars.
Since it’s only free for the first year, I thought it would be a good idea to compare how much is being charged for the second year and above: (Prices taken from the web site of each registrar and is accurate as of December 09 2009)
And right after I finished this table, I found a page by SGNIC with their own table plus other useful information. LOL wtf. I made my own table for nothing.
I’d probably go for Cybersite Pte Ltd’s S$39 per year if I’m getting a .com.sg. Not even looking at any of these companies for hosting (if available) because local hosting companies are overpriced IMO.
